Hi all, does this mean anything to anyone. I know that some of you know
about vintage computers and maybe someone can point me in the right
direction. I might not have the name right but I am working on a deal to
buy some old computer stuff (C64,Atari, TRS-80, etc.) and the person
mentioned this computer to me and I can't find anything out about it. They
said it says something about 1983 and it has woodgrain or something on it.
They also mentioned muse. Sorry I don't have many details but maybe the
names will ring a bell with someone. I found a German website that had this
Computer
Zeus
Anzahl User 64
Gebaut ab/Build from 1981.06
Schnittstellen/Interfaces S-100-Bus, Drucker
Betriebssystem/OS MUSE-Multi
Tastatur/Keyboard Schreibmaschine
Sonstiges/Remarks
* Jedes Terminal hat Z80A-CPU und 64 KB RAM
This sounds like what the person was talking about but I can't find any more
info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Y-bot

The OSM Zeus 4 was a Z80 based multiuser computer that supported a single hard drive and up to 8 users, via dumb terminals plugged into RS232 ports.
The ports supported several terminal emulations as well as serial printers and modems..
I worked for a company that sold and supported these at insurance agencies and small newspapers in Texas from 1985 to 1992. We sold Zeus II, III & 4 systems
When OSM went out of business we purchased their stock and manufactured a new version called the Zeus 4x that supported 16 users.
The OS was called ZMOS, it was like C/PM and ran C/PM programs like Wordstar.
I still have two some place, as well as a set of OSM manuals.
We replaced them first with IBM ATs with Alloy user cards and then with Novell 2.2 network servers. Eventually we were bought be a company called AMS and the insurance program was integrated into their software and ported to NT.
Now its just a memory and a cool hunk of 80s hardware.
